Three international Residential Scholarships of two months: March – April, June – July, September - October and four one month Residencies in February, May, August and November are on offer next year.

People from all over the globe come to study, write, reflect, paint, compose and participate in the life of the Vaughan Park community. It’s the most awesome opportunity!

APPLICATIONS CLOSE ON 4TH SEPTEMBER 2019 so here’s how to apply:

  • an abstract and/or portfolio and the overall context of the project you intend to focus on
  • your date preferences
  • references from two referees

TOUCHING LIVES - the importance of self-care while caring for others with Marie Preston. An evening presentation, 29th August @ 7pm.

INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN MEDITATION with Vincent Maire. A day retreat, Saturday 31st August 9.30am – 4pm.

We’re pleased to welcome Vincent back to Vaughan Park later this month as he facilitates a day retreat on Christian meditation. Learn about the roots of this tradition and the essential teachings of this beautiful form of prayer. THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT GETTING OLDER with Lynne Condon. A day retreat for those who are 60+ and/or are thinking of retiring from working life, Sunday 8th September, 10am – 4pm.

Lynne has a special interest in how we can use times of change and transition as opportunities for growth, development and participation in the everyday sacred. SACRED IMAGE AND ITS LANGUAGE, with artist and iconographer, Mary Jane Miller.  A four week series on Thursday evenings, 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th October @ 7pm.

Mary Jane, from Mexico, will be our Scholar in Residence throughout September and October and we’re thrilled that she’s offering this series on iconography. Explore the meaning and message of ancient icons as a prayer form and what they have to say about contemporary life and religious experience.

SABBATH: THE HIDDEN HEARTBEAT OF OUR LIVES, with Professor Nicola Slee. A day retreat, Thursday 17th October, 10am – 4pm.

Nicola, former Distinguished Academic Visitor at Vaughan Park is returning to these shores in October and is offering this contemplative day to nurture your mind, body and spirit.
