2014 The Bicentenary of the Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Dear Friends,
Any significant celebration invites us to look back with thanksgiving and forward with anticipation. This Bicentennial calendar encourages us to do both.
The images evoke a Church that has grown strong and rooted in these islands whilst challenging us to be ever open to the movement of the Spirit leading into a future we can only glimpse. We remain a Church that innovates and pushes the boundaries while being deeply conscious and appreciative of our roots.
We have begun to tell our history more honestly and to recognise that our failures have shaped us as much as our successes. As we do so, we will learn from that history but will not be limited by it.
