We are with ourselves here in the dark, Father,
aware of our vulnerabilities,
our needs and our moral limitations.
All we have done today is now left to rest in You,
or grow in You,
depending on Your will.
We have done all we could,
yet perhaps not all we should,
we trust You now as always, God,
with both.
Meet us as we sleep, so our souls –
our hearts – will wake with new
energy for greater love.
You will never leave us,
not in the day,
and not now in the night.
We trust in You with all our
greatest love and hope.
