Editorial Guidelines

Encouraging new writers, poets, artists and musicians

Sometimes we need some encouragement and support for our work to be published. The Moments page of Vaughan Park offers you a creative space to tell the stories that only you can tell in a medium that is your happy creative place. Our Chaplain, Rev. Sapati Tima, is happy to speak with writers, poets, artists and musicians. Explore with her, the possibility of publishing and sharing your work online with our international readership.

Not all material that is submitted will be published online. However, our editorial team works in a spirit of co-operation and collaboration with potential contributors.

Vaughan Park is a non-profit organisation and we appreciate the generosity of contributors who are happy for us to publish their work on Moments without payment. Full credit is given to them and they retain the copyright of their work.

How to submit your creative work

Article and Poetry submissions should be no longer than a maximum length of 800 words and in MS Word format. There may be times when we need to work with you to edit your material to a suitable length and/or offer suggestions to enhance it, ready for online publication. You are encouraged to be open to our expertise and recommendations.

Artists should submit their work in a format that can be easily distributed online. Musicians should submit audio and/or audio-visual recordings of a high quality.

We only accept original work. If you have included material from other sources, please attribute it clearly and where necessary, obtain written permission.

If you have previously published all or part of your original material, please include details. If you also intend to submit your contribution to other publications, please let us know.
