Women’s Retreat: Flower Therapy

with Meiolandre Tima & Rev’d Sapati Tima

Weekend Retreat: Friday 17 February 1.00pm – Sunday 19 February 1.00pm. $345.00 includes retreat, full catering, and accommodation

God made flowers for every occasion, and even in grief, God’s smile is felt through beautiful flowers. COVID and lockdowns have made it even more challenging for families to go through grief and mourning with the many restrictions in place. This retreat is for any woman who has lost a parent, child, spouse or loved one recently, to come join us and be encouraged! We will have a safe and supportive space to share with other women going through loss and in the process, learn new tools towards healing and how to deal with the pain in mourning. There will also be a floral arrangement making workshop for those who want to join in which can be very therapeutic!

Men’s Retreat: Godly responses to Anger

with Rev’d Sapati Tima

Weekend Retreat: Friday 28 April 1.00pm – Saturday 30 April 1.00pm. $345.00 includes retreat, full catering, and accommodation

In our lives, there are many things that can happen to cause us anger. Anger is not a sin but it’s what we do because of anger that can lead to sin. Sin likes to break things – causing breakdown in relationships and leaving people feeling broken. This retreat will be a safe and supportive space to hear from guest speaker(s) in mental health and counselling, to talanoa and korero, to learn and share with one another. Breakthrough is found only in Christ (Alleluia) who said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Marriage is a sacred union in God’s Eyes between a man and a woman, and the devil will work tirelessly to break this union. The weekend will include Biblical reflections, prayers, some personal time out, workshops and discussions. An invited speaker (Marriage Enabler) will give a presentation on marriage. Couples that are married, engaged, or even dating are welcomed to attend. Let Christ be at the centre of your relationship.

Introduction to Meditation in the Christian Tradition

with Vincent Maire (Spiritual Director)

Day Retreat: Saturday 26 August 9.00am – 4.30pm. $104.00 includes lunch and morning/afternoon tea

Are you wishing to enrich and deepen your prayer life? Have you ever wondered what is meant by prayer of the heart, by the prayer of presence? Have you wondered if meditation is indeed Christian, yet had a feeling it was something you’d like to explore? Does contemplative prayer beckon?

Over this day we will learn about the roots of Christian meditation, Jesus’ call to go into the ‘inner room,’ the Desert Fathers, the great tradition of Christian contemplative prayer and the essential teachings of this beautiful form of praying. There will be time to meditate, to discover how to pray in a new and fresh way; to find out about the commitment to ‘turning up’ and the importance of the group and how meditation creates community.

We will explore how meditation heals those wounds of the shadow, leads to self-knowledge and opens us to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. We will also learn about the World Community for Christian Meditation both globally and in Aotearoa New Zealand.
