Introduction to Meditation in the Christian Tradition
with Vincent Maire (Spiritual Director)
Day Retreat: Saturday 26 August 9.00am – 4.30pm. $104.00 includes lunch and morning/afternoon tea
Are you wishing to enrich and deepen your prayer life? Have you ever wondered what is meant by prayer of the heart, by the prayer of presence? Have you wondered if meditation is indeed Christian, yet had a feeling it was something you’d like to explore? Does contemplative prayer beckon?
Over this day we will learn about the roots of Christian meditation, Jesus’ call to go into the ‘inner room,’ the Desert Fathers, the great tradition of Christian contemplative prayer and the essential teachings of this beautiful form of praying. There will be time to meditate, to discover how to pray in a new and fresh way; to find out about the commitment to ‘turning up’ and the importance of the group and how meditation creates community.
We will explore how meditation heals those wounds of the shadow, leads to self-knowledge and opens us to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. We will also learn about the World Community for Christian Meditation both globally and in Aotearoa New Zealand.

with Rev’d Sapati Tima & Meiolandre Tima
Overnight Retreat: Friday 13 October 1.00pm – Saturday 14 October 1.00pm. $3180.00 includes retreat, catering, and accommodation
When you say “I do” to your partner… you are essentially saying “I don’t” to every other person or other things that can hurt your marriage. Marriage is a sacred union in God’s Eyes between a man and a woman, and the devil will work tirelessly to break this union. The weekend will include Biblical reflections, prayers, some personal time out, workshops and discussions. An invited speaker (Marriage Enabler) will give a presentation on marriage. Couples that are married, engaged, or even dating are welcomed to attend. Let Christ be at the centre of your relationship.
