Stay at Vaughan Park

Vaughan Park can accommodate 38 people in comfortable single and twin-share rooms in four lodges and also in the separate Forrest wing of Thomas Vaughan Lodge. All rooms open out into a courtyard or garden and most have wonderful views of Long Bay and beyond. 

We offer a variety of bedroom types:

  • 18 single bedrooms.
  • 10 twin share bedrooms.
  • 1 en suite double/single occupancy bedroom

Each lodge has quality bath/shower rooms for guests. 

There are also lounges in each lodge where you can relax with colleagues and friends and tea/coffee making facilities are available. 

We have unlimited Wi-Fi and full cellphone coverage.

    Easy access to the flowered and attractive courtyards and broad decking give panoramic views of Long Bay beach and the Regional Park and offer you a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. 

  • Clare House

    • One single room.
    • Large lounge area seats up to 10 people.
    • Fully equipped for meetings and/or small resident groups.  

    It is an attractive day venue with a lounge opening out onto a large deck affording fabulous ocean views and lots of sunshine.

    Clare House is named after St. Clare of Assisi, one of the first followers of St. Francis of Assisi and honours Vaughan Park’s first custodians.

    Named after Robert Carmichael,  formerly Chief Executive of the Anglican Trust Board, who had a leading role in developing the concept of Vaughan Park as a Retreat Centre and was influential in its establishment.

    Named after The Right Rev. Waiohau Rui (Ben) Te Haara was Pihopa kit e Tai Tokerau from 1992 – 2001.

    Named after The Right Rev. Edward Gilbert (Ted) Buckle, Assistant Bishop for the Northern Region of the Diocese of Auckland, 1981 – 1992.

  • Accessibility

    Vaughan Park has disabled and wheelchair access and amenities throughout the Thomas Vaughan Lodge.  The Bishop Te Haara House and Forrest Wing also have wheelchair access, giving a total of 17 beds in 12 rooms.

    We have designated Mobility parking spaces.
